The creation of the Gandys Flip Flops brand came about from a tragic circumstance. Two brothers orphaned by the 2004 Tsunami founded the company with a view to help fellow orphans, using profits to eventually build an orphanage and promoting charities by the way. Since the brothers began Gandys, it has steadily gained recognition and with it the opportunity to sell flip flops to a wider range of consumers. Gandys story has captured the hearts of the sympathetic, but also the attention of the fashion savvy.
The highest priority for Gandys was to ensure that their story and ethos was translated effectively. We concentrated on producing designs with a laid back, fun vibe that had a festival-style appeal. It was important for visitors to the site to feel that they were going on an exciting journey, so the easy navigation and shortcuts from the homepage ensured this.
As Gandys secured more and more reputable, well-known stockists, this aspect was made a feature. Initially, Paypal was installed on the site, but as Gandys’ popularity rapidly increased it was natural that further payment gateway integration was required, in the form of Sagepay.
The hard-work of both parties paid off and Gandys was awarded Website of the Year 2013 by thegoodwebguide.co.uk. The company has gained incredible publicity with wide celebrity involvement. We designed and ran the Gandys Ambassador Campaign, that sought to engage the public in their mission. After an amazing journey they are continually updating and expanding their designs and products and recently held an opening for their new office in London. We are currently working to upgrade their website across all platforms.
