The year of 1730 marked the birth of the Floris brand, with the founder and his wife opening their first shop at 89 Jermyn Street. Impressively, it is still housed there today, run by Juan Floris’ descendants. As the epitome of elegance, Floris have long been known as Perfumers to the British Royal Family and have an extraordinary repertoire of famous clients including Marilyn Monroe and Winston Churchill.

Digital Boutique was invited by Floris to submit a proposal to re-brand, design, develop and support a new website on the Magento Enterprise platform. We were honoured to be awarded with the contract and the opportunity of working with one of the most respected and longest established fragrance brand in the world.


As a multi-channel retailer, combining data, clear stock visibility and maintaining the customer experience across all channels were fundamental to the new project.

The first challenge started with how to sell fragrance online, with no ability to actually smell it… We came up with several ways to help customers engage with each fragrance, including a personal shopper, fragrance finder, colour coded product highlights categorising each fragrance family, aspirational photography, beautiful copy, sophisticated drop down navigation and the offer of complimentary samples.

As part of the complete website re-design and new direction, incorporating the rich Floris heritage was a key focus. After in-depth consumer and stakeholder research, analysis, planning and wireframes, the creative designs started to convey the quiet sophistication and effortless luxury of the Floris London brand.


After a 6-month agile process of consultancy, UX strategy, global creative design and development, the Floris website was launched in May 2014. Close collaboration between the Digital Boutique and Floris teams ensured project efficiency and a successful result.
